First Look: Monastery Coffee – Trappist Monastery

I was leaving church last Sunday when I ran across this fund raiser done by the local monks. Like any coffee obsessed individual, their 100% Arabica Coffee beans caught my eye…so I thought…why not?! I picked up a pound of the whole bean (ignore the ground check on the box, the whole bean did not come with the box…just the gold, sealed bag) for review on Coffee Obsessed.

More On The Monastery Coffee

“For over two hundred years, connoisseurs of fine coffee have recognized the extraordinary aroma and flavor of Venezuelan coffee. Today a small community of Trappist-Cistercians monks in the heart of the Andes Mountains is earning its living by producing a premium high grown arabica coffee. The monks use the latest advances in technology while adding the special touch of their own 900 year old tradition in their superb 100% pure Monastery Coffee.”

The uniqueness of the story is what initially sparked my eye and is the main reason behind picking up these fresh roasted beans for review. Should be an interesting addition to the library of blends. Stay tuned for a full review on this Monastery Coffee.

Sounds like an interesting coffee. I like coffees with stories, it seems like a lot of the best ones have stories.

My experience of the Trappists and their products has always been excellent. They are famous for their breads, jams and now coffee. I can’t wait to try this out. I’m betting it will become a favorite.
